Denise Nicely

Denise Hogarth Nicely is a contemporary artist and tai chi practitioner residing in North Texas.

Originally from England, Denise and her family moved to the United States when she was 7. The feelings of detachment and longing following her move prompted her to seek comfort from the horses her family worked with. Denise’s connection to horses heavily influenced much of her early artistic works.

Beginning in 2019, Denise began learning tai chi under Grandmaster Jimmy Wong. Denise quickly moved from student to teacher, earning an international award in 2021 and her first teaching certification in 2023. Today, Denise’s visual works also incorporate spiritual elements, drawing from her understanding of the Dao and her experiences with energy work.

Denise continues to practice art and tai chi in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. Denise enjoys spending time with her family, working with horses, and sharing her knowledge and experiences with others.
